Mooncakes Donation Program – Hong Kong Blind Union
Hong Kong Blind Union (HKBU) was established in 1964. It is the first self-help group organized and managed by people with visual impairment. It aims at promoting the spirit of self-help and mutual-help as well as striving for equality, opportunities and independence for visually impaired persons.
HKBU provides comprehensive services for the newly blind, life adjustment programmes, education, employment, audio description for sport programmes and advocacy for the visually impaired in Hong Kong.
Orbis will consolidate the orders and deliver mooncakes to designated organizations in late September. There is no need for supporters to pick up or make arrangement to donate mooncakes. (If the selected donation organization reaches its donation limit, Orbis will allocate the mooncakes to another donation organization.)
Mooncakes Donation Program – New Life Church of Christ Sun Tin Wai Neighbourhood Elderly Centre
Established in July 1981, the centre was the first elderly service centre of the New Life Church of Christ. It was later transformed into a Neighbourhood Elderly Centre to provide more comprehensive support services for the elderly. Guided by the spirit of Christ’s love, the centre cares for the holistic needs of individuals (physical, emotional, social, and spiritual.) It serves the elderly, supports their caregivers, and builds a strong community network. Through a variety of activities (integrating whole-person development and spiritual nurturing) and community support services, the centre enables elderly individuals to age in place, enjoying a joyful and fulfilling later life.
